Ronnie Corbett has died at the age of 85.

Corbett’s publicist said of The Two Ronnies entertainer: “Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation’s best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family.

“They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time.”

Corbett is perhaps best known for his partnership with Ronnie Barker, who died in October 2005. The comedy duo met on the set of The Frost Report.

The Two Ronnies aired from 1971 to 1987. At the height of its popularity, the show had a viewership of 22 million.
